Noemi E. Ugarte is the lead acupuncturist at Orange County Ultimate Wellness with over 16 years as a health provider. She is certified in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in the State of California.
Prior to migrating to the United States, Ms. Ugarte studied Psychology at the University Autonomy of Guadalajara, Mexico, and she also is a Licensed Vocational Nurse. Additionally, Ms. Ugarte received extensive Chinese medical training at South Baylo University where she studied the effects, benefits and applications of Chinese Herbs, moxibustion, tuina and other Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) techniques to promote health and well-being. TCM is a whole body system of medicine that integrates many therapies and is applied by practitioners to achieve optimal health. Acupuncture and Chinese herbology are the most popular Chinese Medicine therapies in the United States. Some additional therapies include diet, nutrition and lifestyle counseling, Tai Qi and Qi Gong (physical exercise), and Tui’na (manual therapies). TCM focuses on correcting imbalances that, in turn, stimulate the body’s natural ability to heal itself.
Acupuncture is a medical system that has been used to diagnose, treat and prevent illness for over 2,000 years. Treatment includes placing extremely thin, flexible; single-use sterilized disposable needles at specific points on the body. Acupuncture is a completely safe method, and since the needles are much thinner than those used to give immunizations, the procedure is less painful. When the tiny needles are inserted, a sensation of tingling or warmth may be felt. Side effects to acupuncture are minimal, and acupuncture is actually safer than most modern forms of treatment.
During her spare time, Ms. Ugarte enjoys taking long walks, listening to instrumental music and participating in health fairs. She is bilingual and is fluent in English as well as Spanish.
